Base Metals - West Roxby Project |
|
| |
|
The West Roxby Project (ELs 3721, 3722, 3724, 3851 and 3861) is host to the Company’s Evelyn Dam, Island Lagoon and Apollo prospects. A comprehensive gravity survey undertaken by the Company confirms the prospectivity of these prospects.
The West Roxby Project area comprises five granted tenements which form a large contiguous group (approximate area of 4,400km2) commencing approximately 100 km southwest of Olympic Dam, running 30km southwest of Woomera ending about 100km northwest of Port Augusta.
The Project area lies on the Gawler Craton, covering sections of the Gawler Range Volcanics.
Evelyn Dam prospect
Evelyn Dam is a high quality exploration target for the discovery of iron-oxide-copper-gold (IOCG) mineralisation. On the basis of the available gravity data the source of the anomaly has the size potential to host a major mineralised system.
A gravity profile across the region from Olympic Dam to Evelyn Dam shows comparable magnitudes between Evelyn Dam and Olympic Dam (located approximately 90km to the northwest).
After processing of the newly acquired gravity data, two locations have been selected for the initial drill testing of Evelyn Dam (refer to gravity image above).

Island Lagoon prospect
Island Lagoon is a well defined gravity anomaly and a target for IOCG style alteration and mineralisation developed at the intersection of regional northwest-southeast and southwest-northeast trends, and that this position has also been a focus for subsequent Gairdner dyke intrusion.
Integration of the gravity and magnetic models has identified locations where there is significant excess mass not associated with magnetic dykes and these will be tested for IOCG style alteration/mineralisation.

Apollo prospect
One significant feature identified by the comprehensive infill gravity survey undertaken by the Company was the extreme gravity low in the central part of EL 3851. This high amplitude anomaly appears to be in the order of 10mGal with an approximate depth of 300 to 400m and a density range of 2.1 to 2.2 g/cc.
The Company intends to undertake further exploration to better define this exciting exploration target. |
